Sue began her interest in tropical plants with a series of drawings and etchings of hothouses. This aspect of her art developed to include jungle scenes inspired by her interest in Paraguay. The images on this page mainly reflect Sue's passion for Paraguay, though one depicts a tropical scene rather closer to home, at St Just in Roseland, Cornwall.
This painting in gouache was among those inspired by Sue's trip to Paraguay, though it is not a figurative representation of a particular scene. Rather, it seeks to reflect Sue's sense of the magic of the country.Paraguayan Dream No. 2 gouache, 59.0 x 49.0 cm. (69.9 x 58.5 cm) Price framed £1,400
